Popping Up at Stackt Market For the Second Year

This past June, we opened the doors to our pop-up shop at Stackt Market for the second year in a row. With an entire unit stacked with our bikinis, we were ready to meet all of you in this limited time pop-up. This was especially exciting for us as it would be our first and only pop-up this summer.

Having popped up at Stackt previously the year before, we already had an idea on what to expect. We were located in the same unit and everything was setup in exactly the same fashion. The only difference was that this time around, we stayed for two weeks instead of only the one. Here's a look into our experience!

Summer Pop-Up at Stackt Market

For two weeks only, Avery was available to shop in person in the heart of downtown Toronto. Located at Stackt Market, known for their unique shipping container units in an industrial-chic outdoor complex, sat our little shop. We were ecstatic to be part of this popular city attraction that welcomes thousands of tourists and locals a year.

Our favourite part was having the opportunity to transform a completely empty unit into our own. From the all-black clothing bars and shelving to personal touches such as our signature neon name sign and displays, we brought a big part of Avery with us. And of course, when we saw the logo decal on our door go up - that was the cherry on top.

What makes popping up at Stackt Market different from other pop-up experiences is that you're given your own shipping container unit to move into. As opposed to having a booth or small table like other pop-ups we've done in the past, having an entire unit of only your products helps immensely to bring your vision to life. The store gave us just enough space to display each of our bikini styles, so customers can shop Avery's pieces effortlessly and with ease.

Undoubtedly, the thing we love most about doing pop-ups is meeting our customers in person. We wouldn't be anywhere without the amazing support we've received throughout our business journey so far. It still brings us so much joy seeing our customers try on our pieces, knowing that they feel absolutely amazing in them. At Stackt, this was no different; the ladies who tried on our pieces were completely glowing from head to toe. We were awe each time.

During our stay at Stackt, we got the chance to let a lot of new faces in Toronto what our brand is all about. Inspired by our founder's own struggles as a petite woman to find flattering bikini styles, Avery was designed to empower small chests while staying size-inclusive. We proudly use ECONYL made from recycled ocean waste to make our products, making our products completely sustainable without sacrificing quality or style. And better yet, most styles are reversible so you automatically get two looks in one. Win-win.

Our two-week stint at Stackt Market was short but sweet. Taking place from June 11th to 23rd, we moved in right at the beginning of summer. This allowed shoppers enough time to shop our sustainable styles before the summer officially began and to also prepare for vacation season.

Something we were unlucky with, however, was that we were hit with a heat wave during our second week followed by pouring rain each night. This definitely killed the foot traffic in the area and made it more difficult for us to meet our target audience. That was the only downside to popping up in an outdoor complex such as this one.

During the first weekend we were there, it also happened to be Stackt's Pride Celebration. This was an all-day event, which included dance parties, drag performances and activities in celebration of the LGBTQ+ community. With music blaring from noon until nighttime, it was a non-stop party at Stackt.

Although there was quite a bit of traffic during this event, we didn't see a great number of shoppers. People definitely wanted to party more than shop (and we don't blame them) but we still made sure to decorate our unit to suit the occasion - with neon light strips courtesy of Nano Leaf. We loved how the lights made our shop pop late into the night.

All in all, we had a great experience popping up at Stackt Market for the second time. We always learn something new about our products and/or our customers from each and every experience and this was no different. We truly had a blast meeting everyone who came into the store.

Thanks to everyone who dropped by for a visit during this two-week pop-up for Avery. Whether you bought a bikini from us, came in to check out our pieces or signed up for our mailing list - we appreciate you all. Remember to keep an eye out for where and when we'll pop up next!
