Avery Presents at New York Fashion Week

This past September, for the first time ever, we presented our collection for New York Fashion Week. Situated right in the heart of New York City's Times Square, we sent ten of our best looks down the runway. Produced by Runway 7 Fashion and located at Sony Hall, we were more than ready to introduce Avery on the city's biggest stage.

Showing on September 8th, Avery Swimwear was the first of the lineup to hit the runway. Showing from a mix of our first two collections, along with some of new looks, we represented Avery to the fullest. Between a perfect medley of feminine meets edgy, our sustainable bikinis took center stage. First up, Liv in Maven went out styled with a pair of crystal embellished black heels to start the show off strong.

Next up, the Lola bikini was one of our favourite looks that night, styled with a simple silver bangle and crescent earrings. This marks our biggest show to date. We had shown in Miami Swim Week a few months prior, alongside many other talented swimwear and resort designers. In New York, we were one of four swimwear brands to show. Of course, we had to show them what we were made of.

Our Aria bikini was the perfect two-tonal set that captured our ethereal vibe that night. Styled with a pair of wraparound strappy crystal heels and gold accessories, it oozed feminine elegance.
Attended by a multitude of members from the fashion industry - from stylists, influencers, bloggers and photographers - our show with Runway 7 Fashion was like none other. As we looked out, we were stunned to witness the sea of people awaiting us. It wasn't until our music came on (cue Taylor Swift's "Wildest Dreams") that we felt the adrenaline kicking in, and went out there and killed it.

There were a few favourite looks of the night from Avery and of course, our signature Mai Bikini had to be one of them. We styled all our suits with crystal-embellished footwear for the show. From a mix of strappy heels to "rodeo-style" booties, we wanted the city-inspired theme of our collection to come through. Though the pieces are perfect for the beach, they are effortlessly city chic with an edge.

As seen prior in Miami, we also sent our first eco-friendly one-piece down the runway in New York. With a plunging v-neckline and sexy low-back, made in a high-shine nylon fabric and gold hardware, this bikini was making waves as it waltzed down New York City's stage. Look out for its official release date in 2024.

Another new look to show at New York Fashion Week was our new halter-style bikini, that's also reversible and can be easily worn upside down. With a matching pair of barely-there bottoms, we were so proud to present this versatile bikini set for the first time this year. Look out for a 2024 release.

It wouldn't be show without a touch of pink. We sent our Lola bikini in Blush down the runway with minimal jewellery, to show how truly effortless it is. We had paired our collection with silver jewellery mixed in with some gold, from dangly earrings to bold bangles and minimalistic statement rings. The accessories succeeded in making a statement without taking away from our pieces.

We saved some of our best looks for last in the lineup. Avery's pieces have always been about empowering petite bodies while being fearlessly feminine. With the usage of vegan leather accents throughout our collections, we speak to the inner badass in all our us. Needless to say, the Evvie bikini looked pretty badass walking down New York City's runway.

Adding as much shimmer as we could to New York's biggest stage, we loved styling our most shimmery pieces with a pair of sparkly booties. We've always maintained an edginess to our pieces but having them remixed with a crystal upgrade was the perfect cross of beach meets streetwear. We could tell the audience loved the glam crossover as well.

Lastly, we sent out our most beloved Lola bikini in Charcoal. The bikini that has always turned heads definitely finished off the show on a memorable note. Made in full vegan leather, our strapless bandeau-style bikini was undoubtedly the star of the show.

Styled with a pair of crystal-embellished long silver boots and a gold bangle, the suit was edgy and sexy all at once. It was only suitable that she walked down New York City's finest runway to Taylor's "Style", to which the crowd all ate up. We were also cheering fiercely backstage at this point. Avery had officially made its mark at New York Fashion Week - and we couldn't be more thrilled.

We really did it. Walking down that runway to an endless sea of photographers and notable fashion figures was surreal. We had only dreamed of this moment since Avery became a reality and now that dream has come true. Thanks to all the amazing models for representing our collection so perfectly; the production team at Runway 7 Fashion including the makeup and hair team; and our assistants that day - our first show in New York City went without a hitch.
