This summer's been an exciting one for Avery as we officially made it into New York City! Since May, our sustainable pieces have been been sitting pretty at
Flying Solo's NYC store. It's been our ultimate dream to have our bikinis available in the empire state, and now they finally are. Located in the vibrant district of Soho, you'll find our best selling feminine styles ready for visitors to shop from.
Soho has been long known for its exuberant shopping, with many designer boutiques, luxury goods as well as up and coming designers setting up shop right in the center of Manhattan. We've been lucky enough to be one of many independent designers chosen to showcase at
Flying Solo. It's been so amazing to have a home for our collection and it just so happens to be located in our favourite city.
Located at 420 West Broadway, Flying Solo is where many new brands are taking off. With celebrities such as Gigi Hadid as a shopper of the store, Flying Solo is no stranger to catering to the A-list crowd, and we couldn't be more excited to be part of it. It's been a crazy whirlwind ever since.
When we first saw our swimwear collection displayed at Flying Solo, we felt a wide range of emotions. Complete disbelief was one of them. Our collection was heavily inspired by our love of New York City, so to have it available in stores there was a bit emotional for us. We've been living in our dream since we first launched Avery and now, the dream just became a reality.
We couldn't be more thankful to Flying Solo for giving us the opportunity to showcase our products to the people of New York. The collection has always been designed for the fashion-forward and style-conscious woman. In New York, that's where we feel she lives; a modern day woman who loves a bit of edge to her look and isn't afraid to experiment with her wardrobe.
We visited the store back in May when our collection first became available. The team at
Flying Solo took great care of us and we couldn't be happier to meet everyone in person. We made sure to take an endless amount of photos while we were there (for content and for memories). In the end, we almost couldn't bear to leave.
Since having our brand in the designer show room, we learned our bikinis have been chosen for high fashion photoshoots and featured in mid to major publications. One of them being Harper's Bazaar Vietnam. Our
Lola Bikini in Charcoal was recently featured in their June editorial. This has truly been the best takeaway from the entire experience so far; we can't wait to see where our bikinis show up next!
Soho has always been one of our favourite districts in New York City. It has an undeniable energy to it, not only because of its multitude of shops but even more with the people who frequent there. It's a unique neighbourhood that brings in a sparkling crowd of people from all over the city, whether it be a local or a tourist, it's always a good time.
Make sure to visit Avery the next time you're in New York City! Our bikinis will be available at
Flying Solo until the end of August. And while you're there, don't forgot to snap a selfie in your favourite Avery suit. And just like that, 2023 officially marks the year Avery takes New York.
